Cascade Volcanoes of the West Coast Tour
The Cascade Range is a string of volcanoes ranging from Northern California into British Columbia, Canada. It is part of the Pacific "Ring of Fire". The range has produced active volcanoes for about 36 million years as a result of the collision of tectonic plates. The most recent episode of activity began about 5 million years ago and has resulted in more than 3,000 vents. This geotour highlights the more prominent volcanoes from California through Washington.
