Example 6: Composition #1 - Sea Level at Badwater, Death Valley

Sea Level at Badwater Badwater is located in Death Valley National Park, California. It is the lowest point in the Western Hemisphere. This is the actual posted sign 282 feet (86 meters) above the salt flat below. This perspective, along with the road and car for scale, provides a sense of the depth from present sea level to the bottom of the Badwater basin. It also provides a unique view of the Black Mountains of the Amargosa Range from an elevation that would place the viewer about midway between the surface and the bottom of the Pleistocene-age Lake Manly.
