Looking west from the Half Dome Trail east of Half Dome, you can see hikers climbing the switchbacks on the "Hump Ascent", as well as the more distant cables section above. Between the two sections, the switchbacks of the "Hump Ascent" are probably the tougher climb, though less intimidating.
